I am so excited to get to share Rhonda D Designs with you. I love everything in this store and I am totally in love with these nap-time/travel pillows.

Rhonda D Designs sent me the pillow pictured above and it came beautifully wrapped ready to give as a gift. I had no idea when I opened it that it would have the softest pillowcase I have ever felt. My girls were fighting over who got to keep it and I told them to keep fighting because then it would give me a good excuse to keep it for myself. These pillows are just the perfect size for little heads and would be great for toddler beds, daycare and travel.

When did you open your Etsy shop? I started my Etsy shop late January 2010.

Can you tell me a little about yourself? I am a semi-stay home mom,(I do some substitute teaching during the school year),of two amazing girls ages 6 and 10. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 15 years. We live in a small town in the central valley of California. I have a huge heart for the Lord, my family, my dear friends, and creative people.

How did you start making these pillows? When I resigned from my career in Human Resources, I was determined to make the most of my time at home. I knew I wanted to explore the creative nature within. At the time, my youngest daughter was in preschool a few days a week and would occasionally stay for afternoon nap time. She had plenty of blankets at home, but no smaller pillows. I found a few cute ones in the stores, but they were not washable (ewww). I came across a pattern for a smaller pillowcase and the ideas started flowing. I made a few for my girls, and their friends, experimenting with fabric combinations as I went. The kids loved them and I began thinking that other kids may love them too. So I began selling them at local gift shows and eventually at a local boutique. Before I knew it, I had scrap fabric coming out of my ears. I decided to use the fabric to add appliques to onesies and t-shirts. Everything I create in my shop, stems from these plush pillows.

Do you take custom orders? I absolutely love custom orders. Custom orders really give me the ability to explore new designs, and different fabrics. These orders challenge me to think outside my box.
