Auntie Bubbles was kind enough to make a special skirt to send me to review. Look at how cute this skirt is and she only charges $17 for them. The one she made for me was even made out of Old Navy jeans (I don't know if all her skirts are).
The package she had it in was so pretty that the lady at the PO was excited for us to get it. When I opened it it was even wrapped up beautifully inside the package.
I also found out Auntie Bubbles has a really cool pillowcase project that she does so make sure to read the interviews questions below.
How did you you start making such cute skirts? I’ve always had an idea of what type of clothing I was looking for, but couldn't always find exactly what I had in my mind. That’s when I bought a sewing machine and started making my own clothing. When my sister started having little girls, I started sewing for them. I had so much fun experimenting with fun, silly, loud fabrics…. stuff I couldn’t get away with, but a three year old could! ! The girls had so much fun picking out their own fabrics and designing new looks. It became a very special hobby for my nieces and I to share. Pretty soon their friends and other mom’s started asking for clothes too. That’s when I started making clothes to share with others.
I’m so happy to be able to share my clothing with the community. My goal is to always keep the prices of my clothes affordable for the average family. Some of the prices I see out there for children’s clothes are incomprehensible. At the end of the day, I want the kiddos that wear my clothes to be able to wear them to church and then run right out to the playground without worrying that they are too expensive.
I noticed in your shop you have a special pillowcase project for Rady Children's Hosptial. Can you tell me about your special project? I am working with the The Assistance League of Rancho San Dieguito, CA to provide colorful pillowcases for patients at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.
Each child at Rady Children’s Hospital with a chronic illness chooses two of the colorful, handmade pillowcases. They use one and then they use their second one while the first one is being laundered. When they leave the hospital, they take their pillowcases with them.
*Auntie Bubbles gives you a chance to provide a pillowcase to these children for just $3. Auntie Bubbles has a listing in her shop for you to help.
Do you take custom orders? The majority of my sales are custom orders. I love the idea of a custom experience without the custom prices. I really enjoy making all of the creations that people come up with.
Do you have a blog for your store, Facebook fan page or twitter that you want me to mention? AuntieBubbles.com is coming soon! However, I will continue to guide people to etsy. I like the idea of supporting other etsy sellers by bringing traffic to the site and creating awareness about all of the awesome handmade treasures out there.
What is your favorite item in your shop? Now that’s a tough question! I guess it depends on the mood I’m in. If I was a little girl I would probably want to put on the leopard print jean skirt with a pair of black tights (since it’s a little chilly out today). I also love the cupcake birthday skirt for special occasions.
