I am sooooo excited and I have been working very hard to get it started. I have saved the shop Solstice Designs until last for a specific reason. Solstice Design should win an award for being a giving shop. When I first found this shop I was totally blown away by the amount of Pay It Forward items this shop carries. I actually just went and checked and as of right now they have 58 Pay It Forward items in their shop for around $6. How did you start making jewelry? My best friend/business partner and I were on vacation and wandered in to a bead store. Neither of us made jewelry or even knew how at the time. We fell in love with natural stones and began making jewelry. After a year or so of tinkering, I quit my full time job at Tiffany &Co. to start Solstice Designs. Solstice Designs has been my full time job for five years!!
What makes you smile? Knowing that hundreds of women across the country have received a donated piece of our jewelry to honor their journey, commitment to themselves and their children. I know in my heart that one day we will be in an airport or another part of the country and we will see a woman wearing one of our Project Mother’s Day necklaces. In that moment, we will know that we touched the lives of a family we will never meet.

I had found some plate similar to this many years ago and bought a whole stack of them because I loved them so much. I was so excited when I saw that this shop had the plates I love. What size plates do you offer in your shop? I offer dinner size plates and salad size plates and platters; the exact size varies, depending on the availability. I recently added desert size plates as well, which are perfect to give as a gift with a cupcake or slice of cake! These are great gifts for friends, neighbors, or to take to the office for co-workers to celebrate fun days!
What are some custom things you can do with your plates? I do lots and lots of custom plates and mugs! I have done many personalized “Happy Birthday” plates, wedding plates, and anniversary plates. Kids have sent me pieces of paper with ideas for plates they have designed that I have made for them to give to their parents for birthdays, mother’s day, etc. I have also done gift plates with poems or sayings, and images that they have requested. I receive many orders for recovery anniversary coffee mugs for people celebrating years of sobriety. This is a great personalized option to celebrate that achievement! I can pretty much do whatever is requested, so let me know what you'd like! If you can dream it, I can paint it!

Giveaway by Nellie Bugs - (this giveaway is now closed)
Today I would like to introduce you to my next PIF Event shop names Nellie Bugs. Nellie Bugs sent me a pink headband with flower and it is so cute. One thing I loved about this shop is that she sent it in a recycled drink mix box. I am all about recycling so it was fun to open the package to the drink box.

Can you explain the starfish/bug necklaces? The pendants I use for my necklaces have real bugs, starfish, and/or scorpions in them. They are eye catchers and everyone loves them! I wear my starfish bracelet daily, and my girls wear their scorpion/bug ones too! They're great for boys, which is why I started carrying them in my shop. :)
Do you take custom orders? Custom orders are my favorite! :) I love making each order unique, so I love custom orders!

Giveaway by T & T Crafts - PIF Event (this giveaway is now closed)
Today's featured shop for the PIF event is T & T Crafts. If you haven't read about our Pay-It Forward event yet you can read here.
T & T Crafts sells a bar of Orange/Ginger Milk soap for 20 cents as a PIF item. They are basically giving this soap away for free and only charging for shipping as a Pay-It-Forward item.
What really caught my eye in this shop is the felted soap. I have never heard of felted soap. I just learned about felted dryer balls (which I'm crazy about by the way) and now T & T Crafts sent me a felted soap to try and it's so cool, I really like it. I am really starting to like this felted stuff.

My wine soap is made from homemade Cabernet/Merlot wine from a friend of ours that makes wine. Most wine soaps only include a wine fragrance added later in the saponification process, mine includes actual wine and isn't diluted with water. All my soaps are dye free and no fragrances are added. They get the smells and colors from what is in them (i.e. wine, beer, coffee, etc)

Giveaway by Miss Priss Designs - (this giveaway is now closed)
Miss Priss Designs was kind enough to take part in my PIF WEEK event. If you didn't read my post about the event you can click here. Miss Priss Designs sent me the most beautiful black tutu and beanie that my daughter fell in love with. The fun part about it is that we didn't keep it. Because this is part of the PIF event we used it to do something nice for someone else.
The beautiful tutu and beanie was placed in a box and mailed to a family for a very important event. This family is getting ready for a fundraising auction to adopt a child from Taiwan so this tutu and beanie gets to be part in making the difference in the life of an orphan. What size do your beanies and tutus come in? My boutique beanies come in newborn/infant and big girl size- big girl fits about age 1-5years.
Custom Tutus come in newborn to size 6years. You pick up to 3 different colors and tell me her age for size or send me exact waist measurements for more of a custom fit.

Let's learn about this wonderful shop:When did you open your Etsy shop? I have had tables at many craft shows & have done custom orders for about 4 years and more recently opened my Etsy shop in March 2010.
Can you tell me about the PIF items in your shop and the charity you support?
I feature one or two PIF items per month. Right now my featured PIF items are a tutu and boutique beanie. My usual charity of choice is St. Jude's Research Hospital for Children but most recently donated to the American Cancer Society.
What size do your beanies and tutus come in? My boutique beanies come in newborn/infant and big girl size- big girl fits about age 1-5years.
Custom Tutus come in newborn to size 6years. You pick up to 3 different colors and tell me her age for size or send me exact waist measurements for more of a custom fit.
More recently, I've had many custom order inquiries & fulfilled orders for bridal hair pieces & bridesmaid flower hair clips- make sure to check out my shop for these as well!
What makes me smile? My daughters- they are my world & I'm so privileged & blessed to be their mom! Dancing around the house with my kids is one of my favorite things to do & we do it almost everyday.

Pay-It-Forward Event start TODAY!!!
Several weeks ago I learned from a reader on my blog that some Etsy shops have Pay-It-Forward items that they sell at discounted prices so that you can do something nice for someone. I loved this idea and started looking around Etsy and found several shops that do this.
This week I want to encourage all my readers to do at least 1 Random Act Of Kindness for someone. Here are some simple ideas but you can Goggle search it if you need more ideas.
1. Go to a laundry mat and give someone a handful of quarters.
2. Bake Cookies and take them to your local police or fire station and thank them for what they do.
3. Do something special for a military family.
4. Pay for the person behind you in the drive-thru
5. How about doing something special for your boss.
6. Go visit an elderly person

Giveaway by Kase & Anna's Mom (this giveaway is now closed)
I love this shop and my birthday is a week away so if anyone wants to buy me anything you can shop at Kase & Anna's Mom. You can buy me anything you see pictured below other than the beautiful bracelet because they were kind enough to send that one to me.
I truly love this shop and the craftsmanship is beautiful. Kase & Anna's Mom has done a wonderful job with the photos but they still do not do justice for the colors in this bracelet. This is a fun shop to look at and I'm sure you will find something you love.

Can you tell me a little about yourself? My Facebook profile says: "mother, wife, friend, daughter, teacher, jeweler, writer, scrapbooker, jokester, crafter, reader, thinker, worrier, learner, risktaker, viewer, shopper, clown, philosopher, arguer, peacemaker, entertainer, tweeter... and weirdo" and that's a pretty accurate description of me!
I've been a daughter for 34 years, a wife for 10 years, a Mom for 6 years, a teacher for 11 years, and a jeweler for 8 years. I started making jewelry just as a craft, but that quickly grew into a large customer base. When we moved to a new town, I stopped selling my jewelry, but found that my previous customers tracked me down and kept asking for new designs... so I succumbed and started an etsy shop. It's been phenomenal.
What inspires you? I don't draw out my designs in advance -- ideas swirl around in my brain (my brain is kind of like a swirling vortex of ideas and thoughts at all times). I'm inspired by fashion magazines, television (I'm a DVR-junkie), movies, and scrapbook paper...but, ultimately, the supplies inspire me. I pull out one bead, then play with another and see what works together. I like to let the supplies I have on hand guide me, rather than ordering things for a specific project.
Do you take custom orders? Of course! Most of my business has been built up over the years through custom orders -- grad jewelry, prom jewelry, wedding jewelry, etc...

Do you go to the gym? If so then you need one of the towels from Words to Sweat By™. OK these are great motivation for home too but can you imagine the conversations at the gym with the towels. Aren't they great?
